1.5lbs (700g) chicken breasts – Cut into bite-sized pieces
1/3 cuphoney – Provides the sweetness
1/4 cupsoy sauce – For a savory, salty touch
2 tablespoonsrice vinegar – Adds a bit of tang
2cloves garlic, minced – For that essential garlic flavor
1 teaspoonginger, minced – Adds a subtle spice
1 tablespoonsesame oil – For a nutty, rich taste
1 teaspooncornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water – Optional, for thickening the glaze
2 tablespoonssesame seeds – Optional, for garnish
2 tablespoonschopped green onions – Optional, for garnish
Wooden skewers – Soaked in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning
Instructions
Preheat your grill to medium-high or oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare the marinade with honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
Reserve 1/4 cup of marinade for basting, marinate chicken pieces with the rest for at least 30 minutes.
Assemble marinated chicken on soaked skewers, ensuring even spacing.
Grill skewers for 4-5 minutes per side, basting occasionally; for baking, use parchment paper and cook for 18-20 minutes.
Heat reserved marinade with cornstarch for glaze, drizzle over cooked skewers.
Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
Notes
For best results, let chicken marinate longer, preferably overnight, and ensure grill is preheated to avoid sticking.
