Quick Bok Choy with Ginger Chili Sauce Delight

This quick and flavorful bok choy dish is perfect for busy weeknights!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1pound Bok Choy, washed and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoonsFresh Ginger, grated
  • 3cloves Garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoonsSoy Sauce, low-sodium preferred
  • 1 teaspoonRed Chili Flakes, adjust based on heat preference
  • 2 teaspoonsSesame Oil, adds nutty flavor
  • 2 tablespoonsVegetable Oil, for stir-frying
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black Pepper, freshly cracked, to taste

Instructions

  1. Start by thoroughly washing the bok choy under running water to ensure any residual grit or dirt is removed. Once clean, chop the bok choy into bite-sized pieces, separating the stems from the leaves.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in your skillet over medium-high heat. Allow the oil to shimmer, which indicates it’s hot enough. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet, sautéing them for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Next, add the bok choy stalks to the skillet. Stir-frying them for about two minutes allows them to soften up slightly.
  4. Add the bok choy leaves to the skillet and continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until they wilt and turn a vibrant green.
  5. In a small mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, red chili flakes, and sesame oil to create your zesty ginger chili sauce. Mix well until everything is incorporated.
  6. Pour the ginger chili sauce over the bok choy in the skillet. Toss everything together to ensure the sauce coats every piece of bok choy evenly. Cook for another minute, season with salt and freshly cracked black pepper according to your preference, then remove from heat.
