Ingredients
- 9 cupsChex cereal (any variety)
- 1 cupsemi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cupcreamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cupunsalted butter
- 1 teaspoonvanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cupspowdered sugar
- Optional: M&M’s, mini pretzels, holiday sprinkles
Instructions
- In a largemicrowave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter.Microwaveon high for 1 minute, then stir. Continue tomicrowavein 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the mixture is smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl. Gently fold until the cereal is evenly coated.
- Transfer the coated cereal into a large resealable plastic bag, add the powdered sugar, and shake until well coated.
- Spread the coated cereal out on a baking sheet lined withparchment paperto cool. Sprinkle with optional M&M’s, pretzels, and holiday sprinkles for an extra festive touch.
- Allow to cool completely before serving or storing.
Notes
For a nut-free version, substitute the peanut butter with sunflower seed butter.
