Starbucks Copycat Cake Pops

Recreate the magic of Starbucks cake pops right at home with this delightful copycat recipe! Perfect for parties or a sweet little treat after dinner, these cake pops are fun to make and even more fun to eat. With a moist vanilla cake center and a luscious chocolate coating, they’re every bit as tempting as the store-bought version.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1box vanilla cake mix (plus ingredients called for on the box: water, oil, and eggs)
  • 1 cupvanilla frosting
  • 2 cupswhite chocolate chips or candy melts
  • Sprinkles for decoration
  • Lollipop sticks

Instructions

  1. Bake the Cake: Prepare and bake the vanilla cake as directed on the box using a 9×13 inch pan. Allow to cool completely.
  2. Crumble and Mix: Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl until no large pieces remain. Mix in 1 cup of vanilla frosting until well combined.
  3. Form the Balls: Roll the cake mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Chill: Insert lollipop sticks into each ball and freeze for about an hour until firm.
  5. Dip and Decorate: Melt the white chocolate or candy melts and dip each cake ball fully. Decorate with sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  6. Set: Allow the cake pops to set by standing them upright in a styrofoam block or cake pop stand until the chocolate hardens.

Notes

Chill Thoroughly: Ensure cake balls are very firm before dipping to prevent them from falling off the sticks.
Coating Consistency: If the chocolate or melts are too thick, add a teaspoon of coconut oil to achieve a smoother finish.
