  • 1 1/2 teaspoonsbaking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoonbaking soda
  • 1 tablespoonground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  • 1 cupunsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cupsgranulated sugar
  • 3large eggs
  • 2 teaspoonsvanilla extract
  • 1 cupsour cream
  • 2 cupspeeled and chopped apples
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat yourovento 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl,whisktogether flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla: Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  5. Combine mixtures: Alternate adding dry ingredients and sour cream to the creamed mixture, starting and ending with dry ingredients.
  6. Fold in apples and nuts: Gently fold in the chopped apples and nuts, if using.
  7. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool and serve: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto awire rackto cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use a mix of apple varieties for a balance of sweetness and tartness.
The cake can be drizzled with a simple glaze or dusted with powdered sugar before serving for an extra touch of sweetness.
