  • 1/2 cupfinely chopped caramel squares
  • 1/2 cupchopped pecans
  • 1/2 cupsemi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1/4 cupcocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoonsalt
  • 1/2 teaspoonbaking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoonbaking powder
  • 1/2 cupsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cupbrown sugar
  • 1/2 cupwhite sugar
  • 1large egg
  • 1 teaspoonvanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat yourovento 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet withparchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl,whisktogether the flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the room temperature butter with both sugars using anelectric mixeruntil light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chopped caramel squares, pecans, and chocolate chips.
  7. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto your prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly soft.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to awire rackto cool completely.

Notes

Ensure the caramel squares are finely chopped to promote even melting and distribution throughout the cookies.
Keep an eye on your baking time; slightly underbaking the cookies will keep them wonderfully soft and chewy.
