Vanilla Bean Christmas Lights Cookies
Brighten your holiday season with our delightful Vanilla Bean Christmas Lights Cookies. Crafted with love and festivity, these cookies feature the aromatic allure of vanilla and are adorned to resemble the twinkling lights of a Christmas tree.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2sticks (12 tablespoons) salted butter, at room temperature
- 3/4 cupgranulated sugar
- 1 teaspoonvanilla bean powder or1 tablespoonvanilla extract
- 1 tablespoonhazelnut liquor (optional)
- 1egg, at room temperature
- 2to2 1/4cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoonbaking soda
- 1/2 teaspoonkosher salt
- For Vanilla Icing:
- 2 cupspowdered sugar
- 1 tablespoonmaple syrup
- 2 teaspoonsvanilla extract
- 1/2 cupmelted chocolate chips
- Mini holiday M&M’s and vanilla sugar for decorating
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in vanilla and egg (hazelnut liquor if using).
- Combine dry ingredients; gradually add to wet mixture. If sticky, add extra flour.
- Roll out, cut into festive shapes, and chill for 30 mins.
- Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes until golden.
- Cool, then decorate with icing, melted chocolate, and M&M’s.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, replace hazelnut liquor with almond extract. Ensure cookies are fully cooled before decorating to prevent the icing from melting.
